Labour Market Information (LMI) refers to information about the structure and working of a labour market, and any factors likely to influence the structure and working of that market, including: jobs available, people to do those jobs and changes in the business environment. LMI is available at local, regional, provincial, national and even international level.
There are 3 main components to labour market information:
The Demand Side (the jobs available)
The Supply Side (people to do the jobs available)
Forces affecting the labour market (e.g. legislation)
All sector councils collect and disseminate labour market information on their sector. The ability to provide reliable labour market data is important to support human resource decision-making in their sectors. For more information and access to LMI in individual sectors, please visit our Members and Partners websites.
